Emergency Dentist Appointment
While we advise patients to have a comprehensive examination, we know that emergencies happen at unexpected times. When emergencies happen, your relief is our main priority. Swann Dentistry offers emergency dentist appointments for issues such as toothache, broken or cracked tooth, swelling, or abscess.
What to expect when you first come in
Before any procedure, a professional team member will ask questions to find out what’s causing the problem and the appropriate treatment. Our team member will then schedule an appointment for you with our resident dentist to help you immediately.
What happens during the appointment?
An initial consultation is done by our dentist to assess your condition and give you treatment options. Your dentist will thoroughly discuss each treatment option, including their advantages, disadvantages, and cost. This typically lasts anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes.
You may expect your dentist to do the following:
-
Examine the area of concern
-
Order an x-ray exam
-
Recommend temporary treatment to relieve pain
While permanent treatment will not be done during this visit, we will do our best to make sure you are relieved of pain. It is important to note, though, that further treatment might still be needed to fully solve the problem. A permanent treatment will be thoroughly explained by your dentist so you can make the best decision.
After the appointment
We strongly advise that all patients return to Swann Dentistry for further treatment or a comprehensive examination. This gives us the opportunity to check up on you again and ensure that you feel comfortable again. In your end, you will learn more about your dental health and know preventive measures to protect it!
Emergencies outside our operating hours
During regular operating hours, Swann Dentistry can accommodate you to see a dentist immediately. However, we cannot guarantee accommodation outside of our regular hours. For first aid treatment, we recommend you to take pain relief medication or visit the nearest emergency centre, if your condition worsens. You may contact us as soon as you are able so we can book you an appointment with one of our dentists.
Fees, Insurance And Payment Plans
Our dedicated reception staff can help advise on any payment plan or insurance claim options you may have. We want your visit with us to be as easy and convenient as possible.
Insurance
